My father by a mile – he taught me everything that made me successful.

The most expensive bottle of champagne.

GT – If you had to do it all over again, what would you do different?

I would not stress as much. Getting stressed really weakens one’s health.

GT – What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you at work?

I bumped into a client I hadn’t seen in ages and asked him if he still had 3 girlfriends not realising he was with his wife that night. I nearly died!

GT – Who or what makes you laugh?

My friends and above all my partner Mr D.

GT – Do you have any hidden talents?

I am quite good with a shotgun, so if you are a clay beware. Birds I let live. I don’t like killing.

GT – Who would be your favourite party guest?

HM The Queen.

GT – What is the greatest luxury in your life?

To be my own boss.

GT – What is your favourite guilty pleasure?

Cream and cakes.

GT – Do you have any secret ambitions?

Yes and I am keeping them secret.

GT – What’s your dream holiday destination?

Antarctic.

Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines, Kelly’s Heroes and Goldfinger.

GT – What is your favourite book of all time?

The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley.

GT – What’s your favourite pastime?

Horticulture and gardening.

GT – If you won the Lottery, what would you do?

Give the bakery to my staff, share my winnings with some charities and travel around the world.

GT – What would be your advice to someone thinking about coming into this industry (apart from “don’t do it”)?

Grow a thick skin, be prepared to work long hours and train with the best and make sure you never have to be told anything twice.
