Simple, the UK’s number one female face care brand[1], is expanding its Active Barrier Care range of skincare products with two new ceramide-boosting moisturisers — Simple Repairing Rich Cream Face Moisturiser with 22% Ceramide Boosters and Pro-Vitamin B5 and Simple Soothing Water Cream Face Moisturiser with 15% Skin Conditioners and Ceramide Boosters.

The products were developed over three years, with both creams featuring Unilever’s patented Ceramide Boosting technology, delivering skin repair from within by penetrating deep into the layers of the skin as opposed to topical ceramides from some existing creams in the category, only targeting the outer layers.

Simple Repairing Rich Cream Face Moisturiser targets the skin’s barrier to repair and strengthen it using the Ceramide Boosting technology, clinically proven to increase skin resilience up to 2x against external damage after 28 days. Enriched with conditioning Cica and Pro-Vitamin B5, the cream is designed to penetrate up to ten skin layers[2] to replenish and restore skin.

Simple Soothing Water Cream Face Moisturiser is aimed at dry, sensitive skin to give instant relief and hydration. It is formulated with 15% Skin Conditioners and organic Aloe, to smooth and calm the skin. Enhanced with Simple’s superior Ceramide Boosting Complex, this ultra-hydrating moisturising cream restores the skin’s moisture barrier while supporting its natural function to improve its resilience.

Most ceramide boosting products are dominated by premium-priced brands, however, Simple’s new moisturisers provide two options for consumers looking for superior, hypoallergenic and skin barrier-protecting face care in mass skincare.

In the past two years, there has been a significant interest in skin barrier care. There have been over 400M views on TikTok for #skinbarrierrepair and Google searches for ‘repairing skin barrier’ have increased by +319%, with Simple’s new moisturisers set to capitalise on this demand.

Simple has posted 10.9% value growth[3] in the past year, credited to the brand’s 2023 launch of the Active Skin Barrier Care range comprised of skin cleansers and serums. The addition of the two Ceramide Booster moisturisers to the range provides consumers with an enhanced skincare regime while driving category growth.

Caroline O’Brien, Head of Skincare Unilever UKI, said: “Our goal as a brand is to bring premium, quality skincare to shoppers to a mass audience price. Consumers are always looking for more when it comes to products, whether that be the quality of performance or the technology within them, and with shoppers seeking out skincare that targets barrier protection and repair, this new range is set to deliver just that.”

Simple’s Active Skin Barrier Care Moisturisers are now available across all UK retailers.
