Pom-Bear has had a strong presence over the summer holiday months. The brand teamed up with Football Aid for the Pom-Bear Let’s Play Footie campaign, which encouraged parents to get their children into football by offering 50 places at two Pom-Bear Football Academies at either Chelsea FC or Blackburn Rovers FC. Winners will spend the day at the academy this autumn with Football Aid patron and premiership football great Graeme Le Saux.

Le Saux said: “I think it is really important to get kids involved in sports from an early age – it’s good exercise and a great way to make friends. The Pom-Bear Let’s Play Footie campaign is a fun way to encourage kids to take part in football. I started playing when I was four years old and never looked back – I’m really looking forward to teaching the Pom-Bear cadets key footie skills this autumn, and who knows, possibly discovering a future premiership star in the making!”.

An on-pack promotion ran for three months inviting consumers to text in to win a football every 90 minutes.

A national media campaign offered kids the opportunity to win a Pom-Bear Let’s Play Footie Kit. Prizes consisted of Nike football shorts, shirt, socks, football and a Mulitpack of Pom-Bear, worth £60 each, with coverage in Beano, Full House!, Take 5 and regional press.

Pom-Bear and his friends also hit the silver screen over the summer with a 3D advert. The 30-second advert was screened with the blockbuster hits Shrek Forever After 3D and Toy Story 3D.  Pom-Bear was the first savoury snack to advertise in 3D in the cinema.
