Candy Kittens, the challenger vegan confectionery brand, adds hotly anticipated fierce new Very Cherry flavour to its gourmet sweets range.
Available in snacking and sharing bags (125g and 145g respectively), Very Cherry is Candy Kittens sixth flavour to join the best-selling range that includes Wild Strawberry, Sour Watermelon and Tropical Mango.
Made with real cherry juice and using only natural flavours and colours, Very Cherry has been created following demand from the London-based brand’s contemporary consumers for this particular bold, delicious and recognisable flavour. Available in single flavour bags (knowing that fans have their firm favourites), Very Cherry features the iconic cat face shaped sweets that have become synonymous with the gourmet sweets brand.
Inspired by childhood memories of cherry drops from school canteen vending machines, cherry is in the hearts and minds of many millennials today. Candy Kittens nostalgic new product will transport consumers to cheekier, more whimsical times with next-level cherry goodness.
The cherry has gained such popularity that alongside being a delicious fruit, it has become a pop-culture icon in its own right. This is seen through its successful migration into the fashion and beauty worlds via the high street and catwalk (think Tom Ford and Anya Hindmarch). With the cherry hitting cult sartorial status, celebrities and brands alike are all influenced by its cheeky appeal.
With consumer demand for plant-based snacking on the rise globally, Candy Kittens vegan sweets are all free from gelatine, palm oil and carnauba wax. Market growth for the category increased by 8.9% in 2019 alone and is set to more than double by the end of 2028 . Very Cherry is the latest Candy Kittens flavour that appeals to the modern and conscious consumer seeking planet-friendly products without compromising on flavour.
Having delivered brand growth at 75% year on year, Candy Kittens popularity continues to soar globally. This follows significant international expansion as Candy Kittens supercharged its US business, launching into 3,899 Walmart stores along the East, Central and West coasts in September 2020. Building on the brands listings with high-end US retailers including Barnes & Noble and Bloomingdales, the Walmart partnership gives Candy Kittens over 10,000 additional points of distribution.
Co-Founder and Managing Director of Candy Kittens, Edward Williams, says:
“Our consumers have been asking us to create a cherry flavour for years, so we’re really excited to be answering this demand with a new addition to our vegan range. Very Cherry is bold and fun and, most importantly, really delivers on flavour – something that our consumers have come to expect of the brand thanks to the use of at least 10% fruit juice in every sweet.”
Candy Kittens blend next-level flavours with honest ingredients to create gourmet sweets that taste as great as they look. Very Cherry joins the current range which includes; Sour Watermelon, Tropical Mango, Blueberry Bliss, Wild Strawberry and Eton Mess.
