With ongoing global supply chain issues causing longer lead times for all types of new material handling equipment, demand for Toyota Material Handling’s used trucks is at an all-time high as buyers seek refurbished forklifts to support their fleets during challenging times.
The combination of unprecedented demand for used forklifts and the fact that Toyota’s used trucks are put through a vigorous refurbishment process, lead times had increased. However, all trucks in Toyota’s Approved Used truck fleet are now thoroughly inspected and any necessary repairs are performed before they are made available for sale, including the replacement of all worn or defective parts such as tyres and lift chains.
Before being reassembled and safety tested, the trucks are thoroughly inspected, valeted, and resprayed. This means Toyota’s used material handling equipment can be delivered to a customer in a fraction of the time. “Given the selection of used trucks we have available for immediate delivery, we are seeing a significant increase in the number of companies that opt for ‘blended’ fleets, a mix of new and used machines to support their business” says Stuart Reilly, Toyota Material Handling UK Rental & Used Director.
Stuart is optimistic about the future of the Used & Rental industry and says “The further development of our Rental & Used business is a key aspect of our market strategy at TMHUK and I am honoured to be given responsibility for overseeing this growth at such a challenging and exciting time.”
