Aldi has announced a major multi-million pound price investment in milk.
From today, Britain’s fourth-largest supermarket will lower a four-pint bottle of milk by 10p, from £1.55 to £1.45. Its two-pint bottles will also reduce from £1.25 to £1.20 and it’s six-pint bottles will reduce from £2.30 to £2.15.
This is the lowest price available, and the first time a four-pint bottle of milk has fallen below £1.50 since September 2022.
The reductions, which have no impact on the price paid to farmers, is testament to Aldi’s commitment to offering the best value products to its customers.
The move is the latest of more than 70 prices that Aldi has cut in the past two months, including household staples such as tricolore pasta, honey and straight-cut chips.
Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, said: “Aldi has consistently been named by Which? as the UK’s cheapest supermarket and shoppers are switching to Aldi from every other supermarket as they look to save money.
“Shoppers are having to make hard choices about how to spend their money at the moment, which is why we are investing in the price of key everyday items to help customers manage their finances.”
