Empire Bespoke Foods adds premium Icelandic Glacial water to its portfolio

Empire Bespoke Foods, a leading speciality food importer, distributor and food brand owner, has added Icelandic Glacial to its expanding brand portfolio.

Icelandic Glacial, noted as being the purest tasting water on earth, is a naturally alkaline, super-premium spring water bottled at source from the legendary 5,000 year-old pristine Ölfus Spring in Iceland.

Icelandic Glacial has seen exceptional growth in the USA, including the sponsorship of the 80^th Annual Golden Globes Awards.

Empire Bespoke Foods identified a gap in the UK market for a premium bottled water brand and Icelandic Glacial fits the bill with its unique provenance, added health benefits and strong focus on sustainability.

The distributor and brand owner launched the brand in January 2023 and will be targeting the brand at a range of formats including multiple retail, independent luxury retail, food-to-go and the hospitality and food service sectors.

Icelandic Glacial holds the accolade of being the world’s first certified Carbon Neutral bottled water and uses 100% natural green energy to fuel its production delivering a premium bottled water whilst maintaining a “net zero” carbon footprint.

It is unique in the category because it has a naturally occurring alkaline pH level of 8.4 and a low Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), providing a clean fresh taste with the perfect healthy balance for the body. Nothing is added or taken away.

Sustainability is in the company’s DNA. Icelandic Glacial uses 50% post-consumer recycled plastic (rPET) in their PET packaging. A glass bottle range will be launched in Spring 2023. The most popular being the 1lt and 330ml formats and A 500ml, 750ml and a 1.5Lt as an option.

These innovations mark a significant step for Icelandic Glacial in its continued efforts to minimise its environmental impact.  Since 2007, Icelandic Glacial has been a leader in sustainability by using BPA-free recyclable packaging as well as running a completely sustainable operation fuelled entirely by geothermal and hydroelectric power. The Ölfus Spring, where the water is collected, has also been certified by Zenith International.
