- Hunt And Brew offers real coffee in RTD format, made from single origin, specialty-grade coffee beans, British milk, and nothing else added
- 74% of coffee drinkers don’t buy RTD coffee because the current products available don’t replicate coffee shop coffee and 30% revealed that “added sugar” was the main reason
Hunt And Brew, Australia’s leading ready-to-drink (RTD) specialty coffee brand*, is set to shake up the category, officially launching in the UK into Tesco stores nationwide. On shelves from 28th July, Hunt And Brew’s range of single-origin RTD coffees will be available in Tesco Express stores, with a wider rollout in Tesco main stores planned for September.
With coffee fast becoming the new national drink, growth in UK coffee culture is being driven by an ever-increasing number of high end independent high street coffee shops with crafted coffee experiences. The RTD coffee category is seeing the benefits of this growth, now worth £289M*** having doubled in the last three years.
Hunt And Brew is clear about what it stands for: single origin specialty-grade coffee, fresh milk and nothing else added. Indeed, its launch in Australia 7 years ago disrupted the category, offering for the first time a crafted, premium coffee experience in RTD format to rival the artisanal coffee shop offering; no easy task in a nation as coffee-forward as Australia.
And now, Hunt And Brew will provide the UK’s real coffee drinkers with the RTD product they deserve, launching three cold brew coffee origins (330ml); Brazil Coffee, Ethiopia Coffee (black, dairy-free) and Colombia Coffee are priced at £3.45 (RRP). And when they say real coffee and nothing else, they mean it – you only need to look at the clean label ingredients that details – milk, cold brewed coffee, water and roasted coffee grounds.
Based on a YouGov report**, 74% of UK coffee drinkers don’t buy RTD coffee because the current products available don’t replicate what you would get from a coffee shop, and 30% revealed that “no added sugar” was the main reason. Hunt And Brew will be made right here in Berkshire from real coffee, fresh British milk and nothing else. An independent study commissioned by the team at Hunt And Brew identifies an opportunity to deliver an incremental £70M RSV (retail sales value) to the RTD Coffee category by attracting new customers who are seeking a real, no added sugar proposition.
Doni Savvides, Chief Growth Officer at Hunt And Brew commented on the UK launch:
“We’re really excited to introduce Hunt And Brew to UK coffee lovers, especially at a time when we know there’s a coffee culture shift and growing demand for a convenient yet high-quality coffee option. There are many well-founded preconceptions about RTD coffee being full of sugars or sweeteners, and we’re here to shake things up. Our commitment to real coffee and clean ingredients sets us apart, and launching in Tesco is a dream come true for us. We know the absence of added sugar, sweeteners or any other nasties appeals not only to real coffee drinkers, but to health-conscious consumers, and we can’t wait for people to try our brews.”
The Australian coffee business’s unique cold brew process allows them to create crafted coffees that have won awards across the globe for their quality, taste and innovation. Each SKU – Brazil Coffee, Ethiopia Coffee and Colombia Coffee – gives life to the diversity and unique characteristics of its coffee origin, with each giving consumers a new experience to discover.
And Hunt And Brew’s connection with craftsmanship and artistry extends beyond the brewing process. The brand has partnered with Kerby Rosanes, a Philippines-based Illustrator well known for his art and illustrations using fine line markers, who brings to life each of the products perfectly by reflecting the apex animal of the region from which the coffee is sourced. These unique animal designs cut through on shelf and tap into younger shoppers seeking a quality brew with aesthetics to match.
Alongside a national listing in Tesco, Hunt And Brew is planning to launch on Ocado and in premium independents, delis, and coffee shops with a £3.45 RRP. Discover more here: www.huntandbrew.co.uk
