Long Clawson Dairy proudly announces that its signature Blue Stilton has been awarded the prestigious title of Supreme Champion at this year’s International Cheese Awards (ICDA).
The ICDA Awards, renowned for recognising the pinnacle of dairy excellence worldwide, saw Long Clawson Dairy’s Blue Stilton rise to the top amongst fierce competition, beating over 4000 entries. The award is a testament to the exceptional quality and craftsmanship that goes into every wheel of Stilton produced by the Leicestershire-based dairy.

The Blue Stilton, named in homage to the year the dairy was founded, is crafted using timehonoured methods and the finest local milk, sourced from 30 farms all within a 30m radius of the dairy. Known for its rich, creamy texture and distinctive blue veining, the cheese has long been a favourite among connoisseurs and cheese lovers alike.
Judges at the ICDA Awards praised the Blue Stilton for its exceptional balance of flavour, aroma, and texture, highlighting its complex yet harmonious profile that stands out in the world of artisanal cheeses.

Long Clawson Dairy has been a cornerstone of the Leicestershire community since its founding, sourcing milk from local farms and contributing to the region’s rich agricultural heritage. The Supreme Champion award at the ICDA further cements Long Clawson’s reputation as a leader in the dairy industry. Long Clawson started making cheese in 1912, formed by a farming cooperative of 12 farmers, some generations of these farmers still a part of the business today. Today, 30 farms supply milk and are all located within 30 miles of the dairy.

Clawson’s Stilton is a well-balanced cheese with a slightly salty back note and a creamy, smooth mouthfeel. It features a soft golden coat with blue veins radiating from the centre. Since 1912, the Long Clawson team of Master Cheesemakers have perfected the art of Stilton, adhering to a set of golden rules that ensure each cheese delivers exceptional flavour and creaminess.
