For use in the cold of winter, a bump cap needs to work extra hard. Not only is JSP’s Winter HardCap A1+™ designed to conform to, and exceed with ease, EN812+A1 standard, which requires protection at four impact sites so that it must now be able to withstand twice the energy impact of the EN812 standard, but it features fold down flaps that cover the ears and neck for added warmth and protection. The winter version is suitable for use in frozen food industries or cold storage or in bitter winter conditions in outdoor work such as in agricultural or marine environments, and has passed the test for work in conditions as cold as -30°C with flying colours.
While the Winter HardCap A1+™ may look like a smart baseball cap on the outside, it gives protection on the inside. JSP’s industry-leading technology ensures it can withstand a 5kg impact dropped from 0.25m from any direction up to 60 degrees off- centre, and provides spike penetration protection of 500g from 0.50m. This greatly exceeds the protection requirements of EN812+A1, and as a result the new JSP product is the highest-performing baseball style bump cap on the market, as well as being the first to conform to the tougher standard.
The Winter HardCap A1+™ offers all day comfort irrespective of head size, thanks to a castellated bottom edge, an angled adjuster, a terry-towelling sweatband and a hi-flow ventilation feature. The cap is not seamed in the logo area, and can easily be enlivened with designs, names or messages, either with heat transfer logos or embroidery. Bespoke caps may be made in corporate colours in specific pantones; the product is popular with police forces and security services and often coloured to match uniforms.
