BIU Group (BIU), one of the UK’s leading textile recycling companies, has announced a new charity partnership with the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (MAAC) to generate funds for the charity’s life saving operations.

BIU is working on behalf of MAAC to identify and secure sites for recycling banks across the region. Locations will include, amongst others, local retailer and convenience store sites.

Once the recycling banks are in place, local communities will be able to donate unwanted clothes, shoes and household textiles, which will lead to funds being generated for the MAAC. BIU’s proven method of generating funds through working with local retail stores has been so successful that the company now works with eight UK Air Ambulance services.

Like all Air Ambulance charities in the UK, MAAC relies solely on donations to operate. Working with BIU will give MAAC the opportunity to maximise donations by increasing the appeal of the charity to a larger audience and by providing a wider platform for funding opportunities.

BIU has set up many recycling banks at retail sites across the UK in support of local Air Ambulance charities and is looking forward to replicating the scheme to support MAAC.

Wendy Yarney, Charity Partnerships Manager at BIU said, “BIU is delighted to be working with Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, supporting the life-saving work they do. This new venture is also giving our retail partners the opportunity to complement their existing community projects, providing a successful recycling scheme within their local communities”.

Textile recycling schemes have become increasingly popular with many companies, as they realise the contribution they can make to their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes. The process is straightforward to set up and BIU works tirelessly to ensure all parties benefit from the relationship.

Installation and site maintenance is all taken care of by BIU. The company installs the recycling banks and services them frequently, in order to collect maximum donations for the charity whilst ensuring the banks and their sites are kept clean and tidy. BIU’s patented banks are easily recognisable, and are known for their innovative safety features and their unique anti-theft locking technology.  BIU banks deliver higher yields than many competitors (on average 20%), placing BIU way ahead of the industry standard.

Many retail stores choose BIU as a recycling partner because of the company’s high standards and the emphasis it places on quality and integrity, not to mention its well-earned reputation for being trustworthy and reliable. This is evident from its credentials, which include ISO9001 and ISO14001 accreditations for quality and environmental standards.

If you want to enhance your Corporate Social Responsibility by providing a local community recycling service for your customers, that will in turn benefit a local life-saving charity, please contact Wendy Yarney, Charity Partnerships Manager, at info@biugroup.co.uk.
