The second edition of TuttoFood, the Milan world food exhibition organized by Fiera Milano International, has exceeded all pre-show expectations. The show has made a qualitative leap with this edition with extremely impressive visitor and exhibitor figures. The show had recorded over 30 thousand visitors (+35% compared with the last edition), of which 25% were from abroad. The next edition of TuttoFood will once again be held at fieramilano and with the same format from 8 to 11 June 2011.
“All the signs were there,” – commented Sandro Bicocchi, MD of Fiera Milano International – “seeing that over 1,550 companies, with a very strong foreign presence, took part in TuttoFood in 74 thousand square metres of exhibition space. The project’s main features – innovation, internationalization and “beauty” – combine perfectly with the indisputable added value given by Expo 2015, when Milan will be the food capital of the world. It is precisely through TuttoFood that leading companies are already reserving a place in the front row for the great business opportunity that is taking shape.”
“TuttoFood’s success” – said Enrico Pazzali, MD of Fiera Milano SpA, is also a sign of a significant reversal in trend for the trade fair industry. This is the first fair to record double digit figures in many months. We believe that in the coming months there could be further impulses such as this, because Italy’s trade fairs must contribute to playing a leading role in the economic recovery that seems to be round the corner.”
During the opening ceremony, Minister Zaia had reasserted that the health and prospects for Italian food on the international markets were excellent, and that a rigorous policy to defend quality, and equally rigorous action against imitation Italian foods and in defence of “Made in Italy”, could open unimaginable horizons for Italian companies (a “new market” worth 60 billion Euro has been spoken of)
“In this context” – continued Pazzali – “TuttoFood can begin to look at its bigger European trade fair competitors without awe. We hope that the entire food industry will come to recognize itself in this show and make a date with us for 2011.”
