• Kevin the Carrot returns to screens this Christmas, on a mission to find his family’s missing pet, Cauli Dog
  • The mystery is revealed in a new 10-second teaser shared across Aldi’s social channels
  • Drag Race UK star Danny Beard spotted in a dramatic cauliflower coat as fans link the sighting to Cauli Dog’s disappearance

Aldi has sparked a Christmas mystery after revealing that its much-loved festive character Cauli Dog has gone missing.

The supermarket has released the first glimpse of its much-anticipated Christmas advert, which sees Kevin the Carrot and his daughter Chantenay searching for their beloved floret friend.

The 10-second teaser opens as Chantenay wishes for Cauli Dog’s safe return, after realising the family’s precious pet has disappeared.

Kevin and Chantenay are then seen putting up ‘LOST’ posters as they begin their search, before the teaser cuts off, leaving the mystery of where Cauli Dog has gone unanswered.

Cauli Dog won the hearts of viewers last Christmas when he carried the diamond ring for Kevin’s proposal to Katie. Now, his sudden disappearance is set to leave fans searching for clues ahead of Aldi’s full Christmas advert reveal.

And it seems fans may already have their first clue. Danny Beard has been spotted turning heads in a dramatic cauliflower coat and Cruella-inspired look.

The suspicious timing has prompted fans to question whether the RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner’s unusual appearance could have anything to do with Cauli Dog’s disappearance.

Beard has been spotted in Barking wearing a statement cauliflower coat, paired with black gloves, towering heels, jet-black sunglasses and a striking black-and-white wig.

The head-turning look bears more than a passing resemblance to Cruella de Vil, only adding to suspicions following Cauli Dog’s sudden disappearance.

On X, one fan was quick to make the connection, posting: “Is it a coincidence that Kevin the Carrot’s Cauli-dog has gone missing and @thedannybeard has been spotted wearing this @AldiUK?”

Aldi only added to the mystery when it responded: “We’ve got our top dogs on the case, @thedannybeard”

Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said: “Cauli Dog stole the nation’s hearts last Christmas, so we know people will be desperate to find out where he’s got to. Kevin and Chantenay are determined to bring their little floret friend home in time for Christmas, but we’re keeping the rest of the story firmly under wraps for now.”

Beard, who recently hosted this year’s Attitude Awards and will play Paul O’Grady (aka Lily Savage) in the upcoming production ‘Savage’, touring the UK ahead of its West End run in the New Year, is known for their bold, theatrical fashion. However, this latest statement look has got people talking even more than usual.

For now, Aldi is staying tight-lipped on whether the sighting is connected to Cauli Dog’s disappearance, with fans having to wait for the mystery to unfold.
