Rapidly growing manufacturer of wooden garden buildings, BillyOh, is reporting a significant improvement in the speed and quality of its despatch process following the supply of a Toshiba TEC B-EX4T1 printer by reseller, Newark-based Global Auto-ID.

BillyOh is a brand name of Kybotech Ltd and is now one of the UK’s largest wooden garden building specialists, with over 150 staff across three locations, including a manufacturing and warehouse facility in Newark. It sells via a number of large retailers such as Homebase, Argos and Tesco. Kybotech operates specialist garden sheds website Garden Buildings Direct along with a garden furniture website Simply Garden Furniture and a barbecues website Flaming Barbecues where BillyOh products are also sold.

The Toshiba TEC printer, selected by BillyOh for its high speed performance and convenient rotary cutter option, is printing customer despatch labels and stock labels at speeds up to 14 inches per second.

Jonathan Clark, IT Coordinator for BillyOh comments: “We approached Global-Auto ID as a local, one stop shop for printers and consumables. They recommended the Toshiba TEC printer as an ideal replacement for our old system, which operated in conjunction with a slow guillotine cutter and was prone to jamming.

“The Toshiba TEC printer operates at more than double the speed of its predecessor and is far superior in terms of reliability, robustness with a 300dpi print resolution. The machine also offers excellent return on investment as it has printed in excess of 7000 labels so far and we still haven’t replaced the printhead.”

Easy to install, operate and maintain and offering clarity of print, the Toshiba TEC B-EX4T1 is best known for offering enhanced functionality and a long life, user replaceable printhead to ensure low cost of ownership.

At BillyOh, it prints on to special, weather proof paper which is important as some items are modular and supplied flatpacked so the labels are exposed to the elements.

Jonathan Clark adds: “The Toshiba TEC printer has enabled us to move to a paperless environment. As well as being able to barcode the product, we can also scan using a hand-held device, which will enable us to remove the need for picking lists and delivery manifests.

“The Toshiba TEC printer has been easy to install, learn and maintain and the quality of print is always good. Plus we have a great relationship with Global Auto-ID who have provided an excellent service from day one,” he concludes.
