UK based children’s snack company Fruit Bowl, known for its healthy fruit snacks and treats, is set to add to their hugely popular Fruit Flake range with the launch of a brand new Unicorn Fruit Flakes SKU – a product that fully embodies their “fruit made fun” brand messaging.
Unicorn Fruit Flakes are a mixture of Fruit Bowl’s top selling Flake flavours – Raspberry, Strawberry and Blackcurrant Fruit Flakes, and are made from soft, chewy pieces of real fruit purées. Unicorn Fruit Flakes will be available in convenience ready single packs (RRP: £0.49) as well as multipack bags (RRP: £2.00). The multipack bags are available in Morrisons stores and have now recently launched into Waitrose as well.
All of Fruit Bowl’s Fruit Flake products are made with real fruit, giving parents peace of mind that the snacks also contribute towards their child’s 5 a day. The range is also gluten-free, vegan and veggie friendly and with only naturally occurring sugars each pack contains the same amount of sugar found in a single apple.
Tapping into the consumer demand for unicorn themed products, Unicorn Fruit Flakes are packaged in eye-catching colourful, ‘magical’, shiny film, meaning the snack truly embraces the unicorn trend, on the inside and out. Fruit Bowl’s key dietary messaging can be found on the outer multipack packaging, clearly communicating the products’ benefits, whilst the inside multipack packs are full of fun, with a variety of colourful designs such as unicorns, mermaids and flamingos to encourage children to up their fruit intake.
With a Fruit Bowl survey showing only 9% of children are currently reaching the recommended 5 a day intake, it’s no wonder a Mintel survey found 50% of parents who buy snacks for children agree that it is hard to get children to eat healthier snacks.
