• Which? has once again named Aldi the UK’s Cheapest Supermarket for June 2026
  • The win extends Aldi’s unbeaten run to six consecutive months this year
  • With the retailer expecting to sell more than 14 million pizzas during the tournament, savvy shoppers can over £30 by switching from pricier rivals such as Tesco – enough to cover a full match day spread

Consumer champion Which? has named Aldi the UK’s Cheapest Supermarket for June for the sixth consecutive month in 2026, extending the retailer’s unbeaten run at the top of the savings league table.

The win reinforces Aldi’s dominant start to 2026, with the UK’s third-largest supermarket consistently topping Which?’s basket comparisons based on 95 everyday grocery items.

Even after factoring in loyalty pricing, Aldi still came out as cheaper than rivals including Tesco (£194.67), Sainsbury’s (£193.30), and Lidl (£164.79), while Waitrose was found to be £67 more expensive for the same shop.

Aldi’s strong performance continues a remarkable run, having retained its Cheapest Supermarket of the Year 20253 title and recently been named Which? Best Value Brand of the Year4.

With World Cup fever gripping the nation and Aldi expecting to sell more than 14 million pizzas during the tournament, savvy shoppers could now feed an 11-strong ‘match-day squad’ for just £2.23 per person. Less than the £40 saved by switching from Sainsbury’s or Tesco in June.

The budget feast includes fan favourites such as:

  • Hat-Trick Wing Box (£6.49, 1kg)
  • Match Day Mixed Grill (£6.49, 750g)
  • Carlos Takeaway Stuffed Crust Cheese Feast Pizza (£2.99, 670g)
  • Carlos Takeaway Fully Loaded Meat Feast Pizza (£2.99, 534g)
  • Carlos Takeaway Stuffed Crust Double Pepperoni Pizza (£2.99, 691g)
  • Carlos Takeaway Mini Cheese & Garlic Pizza Bread (£0.99, 145g)
  • Carlos Garlic & Herb Pizza Dip (£0.69, 100g)
  • Snackrite Deltas Tortilla Chips (£0.89, 200g)

TOTAL: £24.52 (£2.23 per person, 11 people)

And by switching from Tesco to Aldi, shoppers could save up to £31 per shop (including loyalty cards), adding up to a staggering £188 over a 6-month period – the equivalent of 18 FIFA World Cup Footballs (£9.99 each).

Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said: Being named Which?’s Cheapest Supermarket for the entire first half of this year is fantastic recognition of our unwavering commitment to offering customers the very best value. As families enjoy the World Cup together this summer and look to stretch their budgets, these results prove they can save hundreds of pounds by switching to Aldi without compromising on quality.”
