Seabrook Crisps, well known for its bold flavours, is set to bring back classic Pickled Onion flavour to boost its portfolio.
Having been discontinued from the range several years ago, Pickled Onion has been fondly remembered by Seabrook consumers, and is being brought back to Seabrook’s Crinkle Cut range due to popular demand. It is hitting the shelves in Asda stores nationwide from 18 March.
The new flavour supports an overwhelming customer demand for retro classics, as the Yorkshire crisp brand reveals it has been inundated with requests on social media for the ‘fan favourite’ flavour to be reinstated.
Jon Wood, Commercial Director at Seabrook Crisps, said: “We’re always keen to hear what fans of the brand have to say, and given there was such a demand on social media for Pickled Onion to be re-introduced, we’re very happy to bring back this classic favourite.
“It’s important to listen to customer feedback, and the great thing about social media is it allows us to interact instantly with more people than ever before to get their thoughts and opinions on what we’re producing.
“We’re really noticing a trend in popularity of retro flavours and Pickled Onion is one of the most requested flavours to be brought back ever so we’re delighted it will be hitting the shelves again this month.”
The Bradford-based crisp manufacturer was recently at the centre of a social media frenzy after One Direction’s Zayn Malik tweeted to his 28 million followers asking Seabrook to bring back its now discontinued Tomato Ketchup flavour.
This resulted in worldwide media coverage and an unprecedented amount of traffic to the brand’s social media channels. Seabrook is currently trialling a new and improved Tomato Ketchup flavour as a result.
Pickled Onion will be available in Asda stores nationwide in 25g 6 pack multipack format. The new flavour will join Seabrook Crisps’ existing core Crinkle range which includes Sea Salted, Sea Salt & Vinegar, Cheese & Onion, Cream Cheese & Chive, Beefy, Prawn Cocktail, Canadian Ham and Lamb & Mint.
