Peperami, the UK’s No.1 meat snacking brand, has announced the launch of its brand-new high in protein – Pep’d Up Chicken Bites.  The introduction of Chicken Bites to the Peperami portfolio marks an exciting first for the brand and will cater to shoppers’ demands for healthier, less sugar loaded, functional snacks as well as tap into a wider audience, appealing especially to the female demographic as well as the brand’s core male consumer.

Made with 100% chicken breasts – which are baked, not fried – the tender pieces of chicken are the newest member of the iconic Peperami family and will look to drive further penetration within the meat snacking category, making it a perfect on the go, anytime snack that is also high in protein.

Pavan Chandra, Marketing Manager at Peperami says: “We are delighted to introduce Pep’d Up Chicken Bites to consumers. With its baked, not fried approach, we believe this will be a fantastic addition to the category.  Following extensive blind consumer taste tests which revealed a 64% preference to leading competitors[1], the new Pep’d Up Chicken Bites have already been extremely well received. We are confident the Pep’d Up Chicken Bites will be a huge hit with health-conscious consumers looking for a tasty snack that is high in protein.”

The new Pep’d Up Chicken Bites will offer an exciting opportunity for retailers to drive sales and broaden their offerings to female consumers and millennials as well as providing more nutritional snacking solutions for existing Peperami fans. The launch of Peperami Pep’d Up Chicken Bites will be supported by a £3 million integrated marketing campaign which will include a new TVC,  TV sponsorship throughout the summer of Adult Swim on the Channel 4 Network, OOH, PR and social media.

Peperami Pep’d Up Chicken Bites will be available in ASDA, Tesco and Morrisons from May with an RRP of £1.29 for a 50g pack.
