Noble Foods, the UK’s largest supplier of free range eggs, including the Happy Egg Co.,  has appointed Kerry Foods veteran, Liam Burke, as managing director of its consumer division, which includes it shell egg, foodservice and agricultural businesses.

Burke joins the Noble Foods senior team following an illustrious career spanning 33 years at FMCG giant, Kerry Foods. Over the course of his three decades at the company, he rapidly rose through the ranks from an entry role as a production graduate, eventually ending his tenure as managing director of Private Label Grocery and Meals, a role he has held for the last two years.

Adept at implementing and successfully delivering ambitious operational and commercial programmes,  Burke was able to build a sizeable convenience business through acquisitions and organic growth.

Commenting on the appointment, Duncan Everett, CEO at Noble Foods, said: “With his extensive experience in the industry, Liam will bring a unique perspective to our business, helping us meet the challenges we are sure to face over the coming months as shopping and consumption habits change dramatically once more.

“What is more, Liam’s honest passion for developing talent within his teams, reflecting Noble Foods’ ethos, makes him a fantastic addition to our senior team as we enter our second century as a business.”

On his appointment, Burke said: “It has been an extraordinary year for the egg industry – with a number of complex challenges to deal with and I look forward to supporting the business as it continues to deliver growth in key areas, especially within the branded free range and organic segments. We are working closely with our retail partners to deliver on their ambitions to move away from caged to offer barn eggs, while helping the foodservice industry with time-saving, practical innovation as it gets back on it feet when lockdown is eased.”

Burke joined Noble Foods in February 2021.
