Fresh food specialist New Covent Garden is strengthening its all-year-round brand appeal with the launch of its first ever range of chilled quiches.
The 400g range launches in three flavours initially – carrot & coriander, broccoli & stilton and smoked salmon – and retails at around £2.79. A twin-pack of pea & ham and asparagus & vintage cheddar is also being developed.
Nigel Parrott, New Covent Garden’s Group Marketing Director, says the deep-filled quiches will build on the success of the extremely popular New Covent Garden summer soups.
“We have received an extremely positive response from our consumer panel. The quiches will appeal to our existing core consumers, but we are also confident that they will attract new consumers, in particular those looking for new, tasty, fresh foods options in the summer.
“The success of our summer soups range shows that New Covent Garden has all-year-round appeal and the quiches will strengthen this proposition.”
The range, manufactured in the UK under license by Meadowbrook Bakery, has already secured listings in Asda and Waitrose, with discussions underway with other customers.
The ready-to-eat quiches can be served hot or cold and can be re-heated from chilled or frozen.
