New Covent Garden Soup Co is taking the chilled soup category to new levels of freshness and quality with the launch of a pioneering new range.
The chilled food specialist has launched Fresh Bowls, a range of chilled soups in a bespoke, microwavable pack format. The product range comprises a high quality soup base and a selection of fresh vegetables separated from the soup by a trivet. The vegetables are cooked by the steam from the soup before the two are combined to create the ultimate fresh soup experience.
“Fresh Bowls presents a unique soup-eating experience, with new levels of freshness and quality,” says Group Marketing Director Nigel Parrott. “This is truly a new generation of soup, and the launch will reinforce New Covent Garden’s position as the innovator in fresh soup.”
Fresh Bowls are available in two delicious varieties: Smokey Tomato & Red Pepper and Red Thai Sweet Potato & Coconut.
“Fresh Bowls will generate incremental sales by catering for a broad range of eating occasions,” says Parrott. “Thanks to the unique pack format it’s ideal as a filling lunchtime solution which can be microwaved and then eaten straight from the bowl, but it’s equally suited to families as part of a wholesome evening meal.
“With consumers continuing to seek fresh, adventurous meal options, Fresh Bowls meets a genuine demand. Retails should stock up to take advantage of a profit-boosting category first.”
Fresh Bowls will be available in outers of 4, with an RRP of £2.99. It is listed in Sainsbury’s and Booths stores.
