CHICAGO INSPIRED, GOOEY MESSY GOODNESS WITH DELICIOUS NEW STONEBAKED DELI CRUST

The nation’s biggest grocery pizza brand (IRI 52 w/e 17 Aug. 2019) is soon to be available in the chilled category as Chicago Town launches a new range of tasty pizzas. The delicious Stonebaked Deli Crust is built from the base up, and topped with lashings of gooey, cheesy goodness and their epic Chicago Town tomato sauce.

The new range, available nationwide from 9th October, comes in three delicious flavours, bursting with as much cheese, flavour and indulgence as you’d expect from the pizza giant. The hand-stretched dough is stone baked for a light and fluffy, but crisp base, and then topped with a variety of fresh ingredients inspired by the deli’s of Chicago.

The move comes after extensive research into the customer journey and experience revealed a gap in the market for a chilled American-style pizza, as opposed to the more traditional Italian. Out of 36 sub-categories, Chilled Pizza has a substantial value and ranks in the Top 10 (Kantar 52we 22 April 2018), however there is a significant lack of brands in prepacked chilled pizza.

Chicago Town’s iconic fully loaded style is set to make its mark on the chilled category by targeting the 10.7 million chilled pre-packed pizza consumers who have never shopped Chicago Town (Kantar 52 w/e 8 Sept. 2019), as well as encourage more impulse buys.

The three new flavours are perfect for a couples’ midweek dinner or a treat with friends over the weekend. Straight Up Salami is your down-to-earth food companion, giving you that indulgent meat and cheese fix when you need it most, topped with mozzarella, shaved Monterey Jack, mozzarella pearls and calabrese salami.

Chicago Hot provides a fiery burst of flavour for all spice lovers and flavour fiends out there. Loaded with mozzarella, chorizo and a whole loada’ Roquito® chilli peppers to really pack a punch, this is a taste sensation. Some like it hot. We like it Chicago Hot!

And one for the no-nonsense, straight up cheese worshippers, Cheeeese Fest brings the ultimate gooey, messy kickstart to the weekend. Hand-topped with the meltiest grated mozzarella, mature cheddar, diced emmental, shaved Monterey Jack AND mozzarella pearls for that extra cheeeese-stretch, you sure don’t get cheesier than that.

Built from the base up, each of the hand-stretched, stone baked crusts are deep enough to hold the generous toppings, yet thin enough to get a crispy, light bite. Smothered in Chicago Town’s epic tasty tomato sauce, layered with bubbling cheese, and topped with a generous helping of tasty fresh ingredients, this is the perfect way to enjoy indulgent pizza in the comfort of your own home.
