Ginsters, the UK’s number one savoury pastry brand, has expanded its snacking portfolio with the addition of Bitesize Cheese & Onion Pasties, now available in-store.

The product launch strengthens Ginsters existing Bitesize range which was unveiled last year and currently includes two of the brand’s bestselling and nostalgic flavours: Bitesize Sausage Rolls and Bitesize Cornish Pasties.

Available in cartons of eight in ASDA stores nationwide, the range has been designed for versatile snacking ‘on the go’ or in-home grazing, served chilled or hot from the oven.

With 57 percent of British consumers now claiming that they snack instead of eating a meal[1], Ginsters Bitesize range offers shoppers a versatile solution which stands out against traditional snacking products: chocolate, sweets, crisps and soft drinks. The new meat free variant will also drive appeal amongst the 1.2 million[2] British shoppers who now follow a vegetarian diet.

Ginsters Bitesize Cheese & Onion Pasties are made with a light puff pastry, filled with West Country Cheddar, potato, onion and mozzarella – flavoured with chives and a hint of wholegrain mustard.

The miniature size also means that the range delivers the same great Ginsters distinctive flavour but with fewer calories per portion.

Kieran Hemsworth, Managing Director of Ginsters comments: ‘Traditional Cheese & Onion is one of the best-selling SKUs in our core range, so introducing this into our Bitesize snacking portfolio offers consumers more variety and bolsters category growth.

‘With portable snacking on the rise, we know shoppers are looking for quality and depth of flavour without compromise. That’s what we are delivering in this launch: the assurance of 100% British farmed meat, local ingredients wherever possible, all baked in Cornwall with the distinctive Ginsters taste.’
