Euro Food Brands has been appointed sole UK distributor for Greek firm, Gaea, one of the country’s leading producers of olives and extra virgin olive oil.
Named after the Ancient Greek personification of Earth, Gaea has always maintained a strong commitment to sustainable environmental practices – such as favouring non-aggressive harvesting over large volumes and high yields, a ‘fair reward’ policy for suppliers and a commitment to time-honoured production methods.
In addition, it’s soon to reveal details of a major investment in food technology that will aid its goal to become carbon-neutral – as well as introducing innovative, natural, ways to ensure maximum freshness in all its products.
Gaea avoids using any preservatives or additives – including in its range of tapenades and olive snacks. It focuses on promoting the benefits of the Greek Mediterranean diet and is seeking to significantly expand its reach into the ‘Healthier Snacking’ category. On top of its own lines, Gaea is a significant player in private label.
