The RAC Cooling Industry Awards event hosted in London’s Hilton Hotel on Park Lane, is a highlight in the refrigeration industry. This year, Cool Sure Doors was nominated as a finalist for the coveted title of Refrigeration Product of the Year for its unique new product, the Universal Door.
Constructed of both strong steel and lightweight aluminium, the Universal Door has been designed to fit chiller cabinets in a retail environment.
The doors feature a distinctive dual opening mechanism – sliding and hinged, which benefits both customer and retailer.
The doors slide open for easy access by the shopping public and have an automatic ‘soft-close’ to ensure they remain shut when not in use, limiting the loss of cold air. A cleverly designed hinge allows the Universal Door to easily open fully, giving access to the whole retail space to enable restocking and cleaning to be carried out quickly and efficiently.

The Universal Doors, which are available for new cabinets, can also be retrofitted to most cabinets to improve the efficiency of existing units. Initial reaction from leading supermarkets has been encouraging resulting in a number of test sites.”
