The Halal Food Company has launched five new lines of the only 3rd-party certified halal convenience products in the UK. Now available in 140 Sainsburys stores nationwide, the brand has filled a gap in the market for chilled meals that aim to serve the rapidly growing muslim consumer market here in Britain.

With 4.2 million believed to be following a halal diet in the UK, Sainsburys will now offer the brand’s award winning snack pot of Panang Chicken Curry and Basmati rice and another of Peri Peri Stir Fry with Grilled Chicken, along with three family favourites of Beef Lasagna, Shepherd’s Pie, and Macaroni Pasta and Slow Cooked Meatballs. A range of sandwich fillings and finger foods is also in development making this the most extensive range of muslim-targeted convenience food available in the UK to date.

Keen to create premium meals that follow current food trends, the products are inspired by a variety of cultural cuisines and are all prepared in a multi-award winning chef-led kitchen in Cork Ireland with authentic flavour and taste at the heart. All recipes have a high meat content and are cooked in small batches using ingredients sourced from local and ethical suppliers with traceability. The brand also features packaging which is 100% recyclable.

The UK halal food market is expected to continue to grow and in a recent survey over 80% of respondents who eat a Halal diet stated they will only buy foods from a supermarket if it has 3rd party halal certification.
