thames.jpgThames celebrated its 20th Anniversary with two days of customer and supplier events on the 2nd and 3rd September with factory tours of the manufacturing facilities, and the presentation of the new ‘Thames Strategy’. Thames took this opportunity to announce the formation of the Thames Packaging Group, which will be instrumental in implementing the new strategy of becoming a total packaging componentry supplier.

Keith Kelly, Managing Director of Thames Plastic Bottles sets the scene: “Thames has built its success on strong customer relationships, responsiveness and reliability. We are now looking forwards by applying the same ethos allied to a dramatically expanded portfolio of services and products.”

Thames has always worked hard to support its customers through creativity and innovation, product design and its investment in the latest manufacturing technology to deliver high quality solutions at competitive prices. Thames is a supplier to TESCO, Asda, Sainsbury’s, M & S, Morrison’s, B & Q, Halfords and many other major retail chains.

Adding other packaging components to Thames’s services provides its customers with a one-stop-shop / single source for all their liquid packaging needs.

Keith continues: “Our 20th Anniversary is a timely opportunity to get our customers and suppliers together to celebrate not only the steady progress made during that period, but to communicate our strategy for moving forward into exciting new areas. Touring our factory and operations will demonstrate this total commitment to the future and provide opportunities to meet and discuss with the new management team how that strategy will provide them with further support as Thames goes from strength to strength.”

Thames Plastic Bottles Ltd. formed in 1988 by Chairman Tony Atkins, is now part of Thames Packaging Group Ltd. It provides total packaging solutions to personal care, pharmaceuticals, household, chemical and other markets, offering “not just bottles” from its manufacturing site close to London, but jars, caps, and printed tubes from global trading partnerships.
