Stark Naked Foods, the Suffolk-based fresh pesto producers whose 100% natural products are in Sainsbury’s, were shortlisted in the Waitrose/Farmers Guardian/ Country Living Farm Entrepreneur Awards out of a very large entry, and attended an awards ceremony at the Royal Berkshire Show as part of the Made in Britain Food Awards.
Marcus and Victoria Starke received a plaque and a cheque for £500 as runners-up. Malcolm Crabtree, MD of Leckford Estate, the Waitrose-owned farm, who was one of the judges, said: “The competition was very close, with four great finalists with only a whisker between them.”
