One of the world’s largest confectionery companies, Perfetti Van Melle, has just hit a major trading milestone: achieving £100million in UK sales.
The family business is also celebrating its status as the current fastest growing manufacturer of mints, gum, candy, and sugar free confectionery brand . Perfetti Van Melle is known for its world-famous brands Mentos, Fruittella, Smint and Chupa Chups. It is also the largest supplier of sugar-free sweets in the UK, with its sugar-free range continuously growing +22% YoY , with a product portfolio perfectly positioned to help retailers respond to the incoming HFSS legislation.
Even with this sales success, Perfetti Van Melle is not resting on its laurels. The company has just taken a significant step in its sustainability journey by replacing the plastic sticks in Chupa Chups with paper sticks, a move which will eliminate around 5k metric tons of plastic per annum. In other brand news, iconic fruit caramel Fruittella turns 90 this year, a landmark that the business are celebrating with a game-changing piece of interactive audio advertising.
