Molson Coors, UK’s second largest brewer, today announced two senior additions to its off-trade sales team, as it looks to secure its ambition to be the First Choice for Consumers and Customers. Scott Bayliss is the new Wholesale Director, and Gareth Cooke has been appointed as Grocery Director. This comes on the back of the company’s announcement in April about its ever-expanding portfolio, where Aspall Cyder is now available in the off-trade – strengthening its range of mainstream and premium beers and ciders.

Bayliss and Cooke have both worked for the nation’s largest food companies, such as Associated British Foods, Danone and PepsiCo, among others. Their deep understanding of the off-trade, their internal priorities and challenges, will ensure Molson Coors continues to fulfil its First Choice ambition. They will be responsible for helping Molson Coors’ grocery and wholesale customers drive value, by equipping them with a profitable mix of products, and ensuring they are well-positioned to meet consumers’ changing consumption behaviour.

Alpesh Mistry, Sales Director at Molson Coors UK & Ireland, said: “At Molson Coors, we understand that it is an increasingly challenging time for retailers and wholesalers as they face more competition, deal with changing consumer behaviour, and manage rising costs. With recent mergers in the retail sector, I have seen more changes in the industry than ever before in my 16-year career. With Scott’s and Gareth’s in-depth retail experience, they will bring a fresh perspective to how we can support our off-trade customers. I am delighted to welcome them both to Molson Coors, and I look forward to working with them.”

Scott Bayliss has almost 20 years of sales experience, having previously worked at Campbell Grocery products, GlaxoSmithKline, Associated British Foods and most recently Samworth Brothers. Gareth Cooke has 13 years of sales and strategy experience, having worked at Danone and most recently PepsiCo. Both Bayliss and Cooke will report to Alpesh Mistry, off-trade sales director at Molson Coors UK & Ireland.
