Award-winning crisp producer Fairfields Farm is celebrating a double award win at the Great British Food Awards 2026, taking home Gold in the Fruit & Veg category for its 15kg Washed Potatoes and Silver in the Delivery Boxes category for its Mixed Selection Box. The results come as the family-run business marks 20 years of making handcooked crisps this October.
For Fairfields Farm, potatoes have always been at the heart of the family business. Grown on the Essex-Suffolk border, where rich soils are particularly well suited to growing large, high-quality potatoes, they are then harvested, washed and packed on site or cooked in their onsite factory, producing a range of 8 crisp flavours, plus limited-editions. Fairfields Farm is one of only a handful of UK crisp producers to take its potatoes from field to finished pack all at their farm.
Fairfields Farm’s 15kg Washed Potatoes are priced at £25.50 with free delivery via the Fairfields Farm website, and are suited to classic dishes from fully loaded jacket potatoes to golden roasties. As a Gold winner, the potatoes will also feature in Great British Food magazine.
The Silver-winning Mixed Selection Box offers customers a range of Fairfields Farm’s handcooked crisps to enjoy, delivered straight to their door. Available as a one-off purchase or monthly subscription, customers can choose between 24 x 40g single-serve packs (£25.50 one-off or £22.95 monthly) or 10 x 150g sharing bags (£23.50 one-off or £21.15 monthly), with free delivery included. Flavours range from classics such as Lightly Sea Salted and Sea Salt & Aspall Cyder Vinegar to bold, favourites such as Bacon & Tomato and Roast Rib of Beef flavour. Each flavour is vegan and gluten free, so can be enjoyed by many.
The wins build on Fairfields Farm’s track record at the awards, after its Prawn Cocktail flavour was named the East Anglia Region winner at the Great British Food Awards 2024. In 2025, the brand also took home Gold for Roast Rib of Beef flavour and Silver for both Prawn Cocktail and Sweet Chilli flavours at the Farm Shop & Deli Product Awards.
Founded by Laura and Robert Strathern, Fairfields Farm has been producing handcooked crisps since 2006. With three generations of farming experience, the business uses regenerative farming practices to improve soil health, support biodiversity and reduce its environmental impact.
Fairfields Farm co-founder, Robert Strathern, said: “Potatoes are where everything starts for us. Our families were growing them long before we cooked our first crisp, so to win Gold for the potatoes themselves means a great deal to the whole team, especially as we celebrate 20 years of Fairfields Farm. We’re also really proud to see our Mixed Selection Box recognised with a Silver award. It has become a popular way for customers to get a variety of their favourite flavours delivered straight to their door, and it’s lovely to see it stand out to the judges too.”
Tash Jones, Commercial Director at Fairfields Farm, added: “Being recognised for both our potatoes and our crisps shows the care that goes into every stage, from the field to the finished pack. For our retail and wholesale partners, independent recognition like this is a great way to show shoppers the quality behind the brand.”
