Leading flexible packaging manufacturer celebrates ten-year anniversary with night at Nottingham Greyhound Stadium
Nottinghamshire-based Mercury Packaging – one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of flexible packaging products for the food, retail, security, publishing, mailing, and fulfilment industries – is celebrating its ten-year anniversary.
The company kicked off this important milestone with a fun-filled night at Nottingham Greyhound Stadium where it sponsored a race called ‘The Mercury Packaging 10th Anniversary Celebration Stakes’. The winning dog was the rather grand Emporio Centaur! Further events for customers and suppliers are planned for later in the year.
Approximately 60 people attended the evening, which comprised a four-course meal and presentations of a ten-year old malt whisky hamper with engraved crystal tumblers to Alan Fretwell, Andrew Leighton and Paul Rose, all of whom have been with the company since it was established on 14th February 1999.
In addition, Tony Stanger, founder and Managing Director of Mercury Packaging was given a framed storyboard depicting a life history of the company so far.
Commenting on the reaching the ten-year mark, Tony said: “In these times of doom and gloom I am absolutely delighted to be celebrating our ten-year anniversary. I want to say a huge thank you to employees, suppliers and customers for their on-going support and commitment. I can honestly say that I am as excited about the business today as I was ten years ago.
He continues: “In fact, Mercury is in better shape than ever before with a dynamic senior management team and state-of-the-art production facilities geared for significant future growth.”
Mercury is an independent business working to stringent quality protocols with many of its products carrying technical accreditations. The company has invested for maximum operating efficiencies with production, printing and warehousing facilities geared to support efficient supply chain management service and further growth. It currently employees over 50 people and has a turnover of over £6million.
