KTC has launched Premium Basmati in a new 2kg block pack. The pack has a striking green design featuring paisley, a mosque in silhouette and also the Himalayan Mountains. The packaging and price point is designed to appeal to the UK?s burgeoning Muslim community. The basmati is of premium quality with an RRP of £2.99.
There are now over 5 million Muslims in the UK. The Pakistani and Bangladeshi communities have seen a huge growth pattern between 2001 and 2011 each growing by 56% in that period and this is set to continue which makes this market a lucrative opportunity for retailers.
