The Hamilton community now has a brand-new convenience store, with Sainsbury’s Hamilton Portland Place Local opening its doors for the first time this morning.
Customers will be able to choose from a wide range of grocery and household products as well as pick up a fresh coffee from a self-service Costa coffee machine. The 2,300 sq. ft store will be open to customers from 7am-11pm Monday through to Sunday.
Sainsbury’s is committed to supporting its communities and the 20 colleagues that make up the Hamilton Portland Place team will play an active role in the local area and support Sainsbury’s nationwide community programmes and charity partners. Charities in the area that Sainsbury’s has recently supported include Hamilton Local Foodbank, EK Community Foodbank and Clyde, Avon & Nethan Food Bank.
Sainsbury’s Property Director Patrick Dunne said: “We’re proud to be opening a new convenience store for the Hamilton community and expanding our store estate in Scotland. I want to thank our brilliant colleagues for all their hard work in getting the store ready to welcome customers through the doors, who I’m sure will enjoy the quality, value and convenience the store has to offer.”
Sainsbury’s Hamilton Portland Place Store Manager Ben Hinchliffe said: “The store looks fantastic and our team of colleagues can’t wait to welcome and serve customers, providing them with great quality and value alongside friendly service.”
