Shropshire cheesemaker Belton Farm has launched its Fox family range in 276 Aldi stores across the UK this month, as the retailer expands its direct partnership with the fourth-generation, family-owned business.
Belton Farm has been supplying Aldi with handcrafted territorial and contemporary cheeses for more than a decade, working through a number of packing partners across both Aldi UK and Aldi’s global markets.
In October 2025, Belton Farm became a direct supplier to Britain’s biggest discounter, initially supplying Red Fox and Vintage Cheddar 500g as part of the Christmas 2025 range. The new listing has seen the Fox family range, comprising Specially Selected Red Fox, Silver Fox and Smoked Red Fox, launch 276 Aldi stores this month.
Founded in 1922, Belton Farm now produces around 8,500 tonnes of cheese a year from its site in rural Shropshire and employs approximately 120 people, the majority of whom live locally to the dairy. Every cheese is handcrafted using milk from a dedicated network of family dairy farms, all located within 25 miles of the dairy, with a focus on high-quality free-range milk and strong animal welfare standards.
Long-term relationships with retailers such as Aldi support Belton Farm’s continued investment in sustainability, innovation and manufacturing efficiency. Its current priorities include expanding renewable energy generation through solar power, reducing carbon emissions both on site and at farm level, and further improving energy efficiency across its manufacturing operation.
Justin Beckett, Managing Director at Belton Farm, said: “We’re incredibly proud of the relationship we’ve built with Aldi over the past 10 years. Becoming a direct supplier marked an important milestone for our business.
“Aldi’s commitment to championing quality British products has allowed us to bring our handcrafted cheeses to more people across the UK and Ireland. As a family-owned business, we’re passionate about preserving traditional cheesemaking skills here in Shropshire while continuing to invest in sustainability and innovation.”
Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said: “British suppliers have supported our growth for more than 30 years and they are the reason we can offer high-quality food at affordable prices. Farm is a great example, handcrafting every cheese in Shropshire using milk from family farms within 25 miles of the dairy.
“We are one of the biggest supporters of British farming in the country, and we back that up with the kind of long-term partnerships that give family businesses like Belton Farm the confidence to keep investing.”
