Gressingham Game Limited, a new company within the Gressingham Foods group best known for Gressingham Duck, has acquired the business and assets of Yorkshire Game 17 Limited including its retail game meat brand, ‘Wild’.
Under the terms, Gressingham Game Limited has entered into a new lease for the North Yorkshire premises at Brompton-on-Swale, where the business is conducted, and has taken on all employees of the business, saving 23 jobs.
Gressingham Foods has long been associated with game, having previously included game birds in its portfolio and, through this new venture, is committed to developing the best wild game and venison.
Co-owner and joint MD William Buchanan commented: “Our aim with Gressingham Game is to build on the tremendous success we have enjoyed over the last 20 years introducing more and more people to the great taste of duck.”
