RH Amar, the UK’s leading fine food distributor, is pleased to announce that its specialist ingredient brand Cooks&Co has added Pepperoncini Chilli Peppers and Semi-Dried Tomatoes to its popular antipasti range.
Cooks&Co’s antipasti range is now the fastest growing antipasti brand, with sales up by an impressive +15.5% year on year (IRI MAT to 21.06.14). The new additions to the range are aimed at shoppers with a culinary sense of adventure who appreciate innovative, high quality ingredients and meals.
Cooks&Co Pepperoncini Chilli Peppers, available in 280g glass jars, carry an RRP of £1.59 and will build on the success of the brand’s award-winning pepper range which includes Roasted Red Peppers, winner of two gold stars Great Taste Awards 2014, and Green and Red Chilli Peppers. Cooks&Co Roasted Red Peppers are enjoying strong growth at +14% volume YOY and are available in Tesco, Nisa and Ocado.

New premium quality Pepperoncini Chilli Peppers are authentically Turkish and set to tap into the increasing appetite among Brits to try new food types and hotter flavours, identified in Mintel Oxygen’s January 2014 World Cuisines Report. The report found that 69% of consumers are interested in trying new ethnic dishes that they have not tried before, while 32% of ethnic food eaters state that they enjoy spicier foods now more than a few years ago.
Cooks&Co Pepperoncini Chilli Peppers offer shoppers a versatile, medium hot chilli with a crunchy texture, vibrant colour and a sweet and sour flavour. They can be eaten straight out of the jar, or used as an accompaniment to kebabs, cold meats or burgers to add extra bite.
Meanwhile Cooks&Co Semi-Dried Tomatoes, are a natural extension to the current antipasti range. They are oven-dried and contain lower salt levels and no additives making them a healthier alternative to many other sundried tomato products. Oven drying and an infusion in a garlic and herb, extra virgin olive oil blend give them a softer, more succulent texture with an intense, sweet flavour.
Cooks&Co Semi-Dried Tomatoes will be available in a 295g jar with an RSP of £3.29.
