Inspired by the rapid growth of coffee culture, General Mills’ premium ice cream brand Häagen-Dazs is launching its Barista Collection. Two indulgent new flavours – Brownie Macchiato and Caramel Chai Latte – are available now in pints and minicups.

Brits love coffee and this passion isn’t dwindling any time soon; consumers in the UK spend a reported £6.3bn on coffee every year[1] and the coffee shop market is reported to be worth £15bn by 2020[2].

Häagen-Dazs has seen extraordinary growth over the last two years[3] and this new offering will open up the premium ice cream brand to a previously untapped audience by combining the luxurious, creamy texture of Häagen-Dazs with two popular coffee flavours.

Brownie Macchiato has been made with the intense flavour of Robusta coffee beans, whilst generous chocolate brownie pieces create an indulgent, cakey texture, all topped off with a rich coffee sauce.

Caramel Chai Latte offers an exquisite blend of Darjeeling and Assam black tea. A touch of zing from the ginger caramel sauce creates a perfect balance of sweetness and citrus notes, while buttery biscuit pieces add the ultimate Häagen-Dazs touch.

Kat Jones, Marketing Manager, Häagen-Dazs UK, said “As a brand we’re all about creating indulgent moments and our Barista Collection provides just that.

“Both flavours are unique, offering consumers a delicious treat for after dinner or when on the go, and tap into the growing coffee culture that has swept the nation.”

The range is available in two perfectly portioned sizes – 460ml pints and minicups – combing both flavours to offer shoppers more choice when they’re looking for a sweet treat. And, in keeping with all the ice cream in the Häagen-Dazs range, the Barista Collection is free from stabilisers and artificial flavours and colourings.

Launching at the start of the year, the Barista Collection will enable retailers to capitalise on the demand from shoppers for luxury flavoured ice cream, both at home and while on the go. The coffee flavours also make Barista Collection truly versatile, as it can be enjoyed in the colder months too.
