Italian Tomato specialist, Mutti, is delighted to announce its Tomato Day is taking place on Friday 9th September 2022. In celebration of this year’s tomato harvest, across regions in both the north and south of Italy, the tomato brand is putting on a series of exciting events and activities right here in the UK, so that everyone can experience its Tomato Day and get inspired about all the delicious 100% Italian, summer tomatoes they’ll get to enjoy this year.
Here is a rundown of all the exciting things you can look forward to this Tomato Day…
Find the Golden Tomato and win – take part in a virtual and real-life treasure hunt
Inspired by Mutti’s Pomodorino d’Oro (Golden Tomato) award which is presented each year to the farmer who supplies the best quality produce whilst using sustainable practices, Mutti is staging both a virtual and a real-life Golden Tomato treasure hunt for people to get involved with.
The virtual treasure hunt is now live on Mutti’s Instagram @muttipomodorouk, consumers need to find the Golden Tomato hidden amongst Mutti’s past posts. Those who manage to find the Golden Tomato will go into the running to win a Mutti hamper.
Also, on Tomato Day itself, Mutti will be running a real-life treasure hunt in London. The clues will be dropping on Mutti’s social media about which three London locations (and times) the brand will be visiting to give out free samples of its Polpa (uniquely finely chopped tomatoes for an abundance of tomato pieces in every bite). Consumers will also get the chance to enter a free prize draw for the chance to win one of three £100 Eataly vouchers. The London locations Mutti will be visiting all have a gold theme (this is your first clue!). Mutti takeover of Cucina di Vincenzo in Liverpool
Mutti is excited to announce that to celebrate Tomato Day chef Gabriella Margiotta will be hosting a special Mutti lunch time takeover at her family restaurant Cucina di Vicenzo in Liverpool. Expect a unique and delicious three course specials menu and aperitivo, all featuring Mutti tomato products. Plus, Mutti Chef Carlo Casoni will be visiting to rustle up some tasty bite-size samples for people to enjoy, so don’t miss out on those. Special Mutti menu at Scarpetta, Canary Wharf
Mutti fans in London, will be able to dine on a Tomato Day specials menu lunch at top Italian restaurant Scarpetta at their Canary Wharf location. There will be lots of delicious dishes to choose from and of course all using Mutti tomatoes. Plus, they will be sampling Paccheri alla Norma for all to try! Mutti Tomato Day Recipe Challenge
People can also get involved by simply cooking a Mutti recipe of their choice and enjoying it at home with friends, family and loved ones. Consumers can choose any Mutti Essentials recipe from any of the options here and by sharing a picture of their dish on Instagram tagging @muttipomodorouk and using the hashtag #MuttiTomatoDay each dish will have the chance to win Mutti hamper!
