• As part of a £3 million investment, Cauldron Foods will be the first UK meat free brand to achieve carbon neutrality for its entire range of products from January 2022

Cauldron Foods is working with ClimatePartner and committing to several measures to avoid, reduce and offset emissions. The latter will be achieved via certified carbon offsetting projects to attain complete carbon neutral certified status.

Alongside a full packaging redevelopment and range relaunch, this move will reinforce the brand’s position as a key player in plant-based eating and drive the category forward.

“We’re so proud to be the first in the category to achieve carbon neutral status on every single one of our delicious Cauldron products, through our work with ClimatePartner. Alongside our ongoing commitment to The UK’s Plastic Pact, we are pushing forward with our plans to one day become planet positive. This means that we will give more back to the environment than we use to create our tasty plant-based products,” says Tom Lindley, Head of Cauldron.

“Consumer awareness around the climate crisis is at an all time high, so there’s no better time to be making these steps. Eating more plant-based foods and less meat and dairy is one of the best and easiest ways that everyone can do their bit for the environment, by reducing their individual carbon footprint.

As a brand, we have made it our mission to provide delicious plant-based products that make this even simpler, and now we’ve gone one step further.”

This latest step in the plant-based pioneer’s journey will be supported by an annual brand investment, which includes renewal of its official sponsorship of Veganuary in 2022, a sustained shopper marketing programme and a mass consumer PR, digital and social campaign, reaching over 10.9 million consumers.

“Consumers can be confident in the knowledge that choosing a Cauldron product over its meat alternative will be one way to help them to reduce their carbon footprint. Our planet deserves the best and we’re urging everyone to become more aware of our collective responsibility to take better care of it, and do their bit,” adds Tom.

Cauldron’s best-selling range, which is now completely carbon neutral, includes Tofu, Falafels, vegetarian Sausages and Mince.
