Award-winning wine and drinks producer Broadland Drinks has bolstered its senior team with the appointment of Catherine Smith to the newly created role of Commercial Director. Smith joins Broadlands most recently from Boutinot, having also held senior roles at Morrisons and Halewood.
Smith will be responsible for accelerating Broadlands’ growth plans across the UK and USA on- and off-trade. Her remit includes developing Broadlands’ existing Private Label business within wine and drinks such as cocktails and wine alternatives, as well as extending the reach of Broadlands’ branded drinks portfolio.
“I’m delighted to join Broadlands during such an ambitious phase of its development,” comments Smith. “In such a tough marketplace it’s vital that suppliers innovate to stay relevant. The breadth of expertise combined with impressive agility in bringing products to market means Broadlands are perfectly placed to do just that” she continues.
CEO Mark Lansley added “With Catherine’s strong track record in the drinks industry and her infectious energy for our business and products, I am confident that she will be instrumental in supporting our team and customers to deliver growth.”
With an almost 60-year history of innovation and pioneering new types of drinks and packaging formats, Broadland Drinks offers imported, British and English wines, Perry and innovative drinks in a full range of low carbon packaging formats: frugal paperboard and aluminium bottles, BiBs, lightweight glass, kegs, pouches and aluminium cans. It was one of the first companies in the UK to install a Bag in Box filling line 40 years ago.
