Move over Dry January – it’s all about Try Gin-uary, as Aldi’s Haysmith’s Seville Orange & Persian Lime Gin (£14.99, 70cl) wins ‘Best in Country’ at the prestigious World Gin Awards 2024.

Adding to Aldi’s ever-growing trophy cabinet, the own-brand gin won the highest possible award, a Gold, as well as being crowned the Best in Britain within the Flavoured Gin category.

Retailing at £14.99, Aldi’s award-winning tipple is 46% cheaper than Tanqueray Flor De Sevilla Gin, offering shoppers a huge £13 saving on the trendy citrus-based drink.

The nation’s cheapest supermarket also took home three silvers for its Greyson’s London Dry Gin, Haysmith’s Rhubarb & Ginger Gin and Toradh Seville Orange Gin within the Classic and Flavoured Gin categories.

The World Gin Awards select the best examples of internationally recognised gin styles from around the globe. Judges include leading international journalists, specialist drinks retailers and industry experts.

Aldi’s Haysmith’s Seville Orange & Persian Lime Gin will now compete against medallists and Country Winners to be crowned World’s Best in each category at the World Gin Awards. Results are announced on 22nd February.
