The new range will be available via fine food outlets, delicatessens and specialists later this summer.

Family owned for five generations, R&W Scott has been hand-making preserves from locally-grown Clyde Valley fruit for over 130 years from its factory in Carluke, Lanarkshire.

Established in 1880, the company, which is a standalone division of parent company, The Real Good Food Company, won the 2013 Lanarkshire Food and Drink Award at the 20th Lanarkshire Business Excellence Awards.

With quality and heritage at its very core, R&W Scott still use time-honoured cooking methods based on traditional recipes with open copper pans and small batches of hand-stirred ingredients to preserve the products’ home-made appeal.

The Company’s award-winning jams and marmalades recipes are also created using only the finest quality ingredients. The fruit for all R&W jams was historically sourced from local farms and this tradition has continued with the Scottish berry preserves range, which features only locally grown fruit.

John Easton, managing director for R&W Scott, said: “Our jams and preserves have been enjoyed by consumers for generations and as one of Scotland’s legacy brands, it’s important that our products remain relevant to today’s consumer.

“We have been working on the enhancement of our portfolio for some time and continuously look at ways of improving our product offering. The preserves category is crowded therefore it is important that our products not only stand out but stand the test of time.”

John continued: “We are confident that the enhanced portfolio will stimulate the category and create more choice for consumers. The new premium packaging designs better represents R&W Scott’s values and shows that we are innovators in the industry.”
