New 100% plant-based brand unMEAT is bringing their products to the UK by showcasing the range at the Plant Based World Expo in London this October, followed by a UK launch in the first half of 2022.

Equipped with the ambition to nourish and delight every consumer, the new unMEAT range aims to taste like meat and consists of frozen and canned meat-free products: burger patties, Hungarian sausages, minced meat, nuggets, and tuna and luncheon meat.

The unMEAT brand was developed by one of the Philippines leading food brands, Century Pacific Food INC (CNPF), who specialise in fish and dairy products. The move is in response to increasing consumer preference for a healthier diet, partly triggered by the pandemic: the plant-based market is estimated to be valued at $20 billion globally, growing at least 15% annually. The UK launch follows the successful rollout of the plant-based brand across the US and UAE this year.

“One of the biggest concerns about plant-based foods is that they are not delicious or as pleasing to the palate as real meat,” notes Nikki Dizon, a Senior Executive at CNPF. “But our Nutrition Science team took that as a challenge, and completely delivered by coming up with a meat alternative that unbelievably and undeniably looks, feels, and tastes like meat. Moreover, they made unMEAT using simple ingredients and extracted the nutrients from real food rather than synthetic compounds, so it’s healthier and more affordable.”

The unMEAT product range is higher in fibre than many other meat alternatives currently available. They are a great source of protein and are all free of preservatives, trans fats, cholesterol, egg, and dairy. They give consumers access to tasty, healthy, and affordable 100% plant-based meat alternatives.

Ahead of the 2022 UK launch, British-based Filipino chef Rex de Guzman will be hosting live cooking demonstrations using the new unMEAT products at London’s Plant Based World Expo (PBWE) event from 15 – 16 October 2021. PBWE is the only 100% plant-based event bringing together professionals from across foodservice, retail, and public sector catering.
