isuzu-11tA market leading 6-tonne payload, a short 4-week build lead-time and a comprehensive 3-year “bumper-to-bumper” warranty are all standard features of the new 11-tonne ‘Forward’ F110.210 4×2 refrigerated truck that Isuzu has recently added to its UK ‘complete truck’ product offering.

To help promote this ‘package’ Isuzu Truck has, in conjunction with leading refrigerated bodybuilder Lamberet and transport refrigeration manufacturer Carrier Transicold, built the exact truck as a customer demonstrator vehicle. The vehicle not only makes an eye-catching moving advertisement but also allows Isuzu to highlight the many operating benefits of its new 11-tonne ‘Forward’ for the transportation of temperature sensitive products.

“At just £44,000 plus VAT we believe, especially with this specification, that we’ve got a winning formula for operators of temperature controlled transport. Unrivalled payload at this GVW, a short production lead-time and a 3-year all-inclusive warranty combine to make this truck a serious proposition, well ahead of the competition,” said Keith Child, Marketing Director at Isuzu Truck UK, announcing details of the company’s new 11-tonne refrigerated demo truck.

Keith continues, “The payload capability is amazing, far in advance of any other comparative vehicle currently available in the UK. In fact, at 6 tonnes, it provides a similar payload to that of some competitor’s 12 and 13 tonnes GVW trucks. Plus the compact-looking cab and low chassis height doesn’t make this vehicle look any bigger than an every-day 7.5-tonner. This helps with manoeuvrability and accessibility because that’s just as good as 7.5-tonners too.”

According to Isuzu, orders placed for this specification of refrigerated truck will have just a 4-week lead-time from when the vehicle order enters the production cycle. “By working closely with bodybuilder Lamberet and fridge manufacturer Carrier Transicold, we have been able to make a significant reduction to the manufacturing lead-time.

This is what operators want and are looking for in this current climate and enables them to react fast to their ever-changing market conditions,” added Keith Child.

Completing the hat-trick of market-leading features from the Isuzu 11-tonne demo truck package is its all-inclusive 3-year “bumper-to-bumper” warranty that comes ‘as standard’. This covers the Isuzu 4×2 chassis/cab and the Lamberet refrigerated body, as well as the Xarios 600 direct drive refrigeration system from Carrier Transicold.

“All-in-all we are convinced that this Isuzu 11-tonne ‘package’ is a real winner, providing operators of temperature controlled transport with an opportunity to make major savings, not just in vehicle acquisition costs but also in long-term operating and whole life vehicle costs,” concluded Keith Child.

This new Isuzu 11-tonne refrigerated truck is being used by the Isuzu dealer network for customer evaluation purposes and can be booked simply by contacting any local Isuzu truck dealer.

The 11-tonne 4×2 Isuzu features Isuzu’s own turbocharged and intercooled 4-cylinder diesel engine, providing 154Kw (210bhp) power output at 2600rpm, peak torque (637Nm) from 1600 rpm, EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) matched to Isuzu’s 6-speed manual transmission.

The ‘Forward’ F110.210 also features Isuzu’s new ‘Hexapod’ design cab which is packed with ‘standard’ equipment such as air suspended driver’s seat, dual SRS airbags, cruise control, exhaust brake, keyless door entry, immobiliser, radio/CD player plus it is one of the roomiest day cabs, offering superb cross-cab access, currently available on any vehicle in the UK at this weight range.

The demonstrator has been specified with a 5.4m Lamberet refrigerated body, built to ATP Class “C” Standard, featuring full aperture triple-rear doors and rear access pull-out step, together with a single nearside door located 100mm from the front bulkhead.

The body has also been designed with a moveable bulkhead for separate chilled and frozen compartments, operating within the temperature range from -25 to +15 degrees Celsius. The refrigeration is provided by a Carrier Transicold Xarios 600 system with a Carrier Transicold DataCold temperature recorder and printer also specified as standard.
