Set to disrupt the Old-World wine category, Accolade Wines has launched a brand-new, premium European wine brand – Remastered. Available now in Tesco, the range comprises two Italian wines – Sangiovese and a Sicilian Fiano – ‘remastered’ to attract new shoppers to the category.

Tapping into the consumer appetite for premium Italian wines, a category that has seen £5.6m growth in £7+ Italian wine YoY[1], Remastered champions two distinctive varietals and regions and offers consumers a taste of Italy’s vineyards from the comfort of their own homes. With fewer people opting to drink at bars and pubs and more looking to unwind with a glass of wine at home, at £10 a bottle, Remastered offers an elevated taste experience at both an accessible and aspirational price point.

Distinctive and disruptive in its colourful, modern branding, Remastered is poised to transform the way younger consumers experience and enjoy Old World wines. Offering elegance with an edge, the new duo comes in stylish bottles with striking and playful imagery emblazoned on the labels that plays into its Italian heritage, to ensure maximum stand-out on shelves.

Inside, the Sangiovese wine boasts rich aromas of morello cherry and damson, with undertones of winter spice, and is medium bodied with delicate tannins, whilst the Sicilian Fiano is full bodied, with fresh acidity and tropical fruit notes, complete with gentle hints of lemon and cedar for a long, crisp, citrus finish.

The launch of Remastered will be supported by equally eye-catching POS in the grocery channel, with plans to expand the range of formats later down the line.

Tom Smith, Marketing Director – Europe, Accolade Wines, said: “Across Europe, wine has been an established part of life for centuries, and our aim with Remastered is to bring a bold twist to tradition. Championing some of Europe’s most beloved varietals and regions, we are crafting beautifully contemporary expressions that bring the vibrancy of Europe to life, to compliment any occasion.

“We’re taking a new world approach to brands in the Old-World category and bringing consumers a premium, high-quality offering at a fair price point. With each promising its own individual character of bright and bold fruit flavour, everyone can enjoy the best of European wine with an exciting new perspective.”
