The French Garden located within the New Covent Garden Market is one of London’s largest suppliers of fruit and vegetables to the catering trade. The market has seen dramatic growth over recent years with increasing demand which now requires deliveries six days a week.

Toyota’s long standing relationship with The French Garden now sees the company operate a range of 8 trucks, consisting of both warehouse and counterbalance trucks covering the entire business operation including; the unloading of containers of fresh produce, delivering goods to catering companies around the market as well as lifting goods onto racking within the chill store.
Ensuring a round the clock operation requires a fleet of reliable and highly productive trucks. Ian Furness, Managing Director, The French Garden said: “The Toyota range of trucks we use provide our team of operators with reliable, hassle free equipment which lets them get their work done efficiently with minimal damage to goods”.
The range of trucks include; three BT Levio powered pallet trucks, two BT Reflex reach trucks and three Toyota 80 volt electric-powered forklifts. David Thornton, Account Manager from Toyota reviewed the operation and specified each model to ensure high performance, maximum safety and flexibility in the operation. Thornton comments: “Due to our long standing relationship, The French Garden were confident Toyota could supply reliable products and service support to keep their operation running smoothly”.
In addition, Toyota provide high levels of service support to all customers located at the market with a dedicated Toyota site technician who services all trucks on site.
Furness added: “Working through the night is difficult and downtime is something we need to avoid, the daily visits from a Toyota technician ensure that our trucks are maintained to the highest level which is key to our business.”
