“Here comes Green Goblin from deep in the wood – 100 year old oak vats, that is.”
Watch out for it on draught from April.
Thatchers Cider is delighted to announce that Green Goblin Cider is to be brought into the Thatchers portfolio.
Thatchers partnered with Wychwood Brewery to launch Green Goblin in 2007, producing it for them since then. A deal has now been struck with Marston’s for Thatchers to take over all sales, marketing and distribution for this oak-aged bottled cider from 29th March.
“This is great news for Thatchers,” comments Martin Thatcher, MD of the Somerset cider maker. “Obviously we’ve been taking a close interest in Green Goblin since we first started producing it three years ago. The opportunity for us to give it the Thatchers name is one we are very excited about.
“Green Goblin will complement our portfolio perfectly,” continues Martin. “The brand has great character, and has built up a loyal following amongst male drinkers. With our strong commitment to the cider category, Green Goblin is in safe hands. We are looking to further develop the brand, and will be introducing it on draught from April.”
Green Goblin is a 6% bittersweet cider, full of rich flavours and beautifully balanced to give a fresh character with a medium dry finish. Made with Somerset apples, cold filtered, and matured in 100-year old oak vats, with Green Goblin “one sip and your taste buds will be dancing with joy”.
It is currently available in 500ml bottles. Thatchers will be supporting Green Goblin with a continuation of the distinctive Oak-Age trade campaign this spring.
