Naturo Pet Foods has increased distribution in Tesco of its range of quality, natural dog food by 20%, along with the introduction of four new lines to its existing range.

This follows the company’s recent £3 million investment in its plastic tray manufacturing facility in Moy, N. Ireland which has enabled it to more than double production.

The four new, natural dog food SKUs launching in Tesco include two new Grain Free options: Naturo Grain Free Chicken & Potato with vegetables 400g tray (available in 189 stores) and the new Grain Free Naturo 390g can, Chicken (meat chunks) with sweet potato, mixed peppers and green beans, in a herb gravy (available in 634 stores).

Plus Naturo has introduced two smaller 150g tray pack sizes designed to appeal to owners with small dog breeds: Naturo Chicken, Lamb & Rice with Vegetables 150g and Naturo Duck & Rice with Vegetables 150g, both going into 189 stores. The new smaller trays will sit alongside the larger 400g trays instore.

By introducing the new lines to a wider number of its stores, Tesco is demonstrating its commitment to invest in natural pet food solutions in response to demand from pet owners who are looking for more natural food choices for their pets.

Explains Claire Mc Cann, Naturo brand manager: “The increased listings in Tesco help towards making Naturo – and natural pet food – more widely accessible for UK pet owners who are looking to purchase natural food for their pets from the supermarket at the same time as shopping for the rest of the family.

“We are delighted that investment in our upgraded facility is already realising benefits for retailers, pet owners and the health of the nation’s pets and we have further plans in the pipeline too.”

Tesco pet food buyer Fiona Moss said: “We are seeing a real shift with customers looking for similar high quality food credentials for their pets, as they have themselves. We hope this range will prove to be a popular addition with customers.”

Everything in the Naturo range is made with 100% natural ingredients and up to 60% high quality meat using predominantly Irish and British meats which are world-renowned for quality. The range contains no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

A high level of care and attention is given to the manufacture of Naturo dog food throughout every stage; from sourcing raw materials to delivery to customers. The process is audited externally by the British Retail Consortium (BRC) and Naturo’s quality systems comply with the best as their “A grade” status confirms. This investment also echoes Naturo’s commitment to strive to provide an excellent level of service to existing and new customers.
