Tassimo is further expanding its range of pods with the launch of the Tassimo Costa Skinny Latte (6pk) and Tassimo Cadbury Caramel Hot Chocolate (8pk) pods.

Launching on 1st July, the new Tassimo Costa Skinny Latte builds on the success of Tassimo’s number one SKU – the Tassimo Costa Latte[1]. Tapping into the growing trend of health and well-being considerations that impact consumer choices, the Tassimo Costa Skinny Latte contains 46% less sugar and 20% less fat than the standard milk option. With semi-skimmed milk being the number one milk choice in coffee shops annually (57.7%)[2], Tassimo now brings this option to consumers at home.

Hot chocolate is a growing favourite amongst coffee shop customers (+6.1% growth YoY)[3] due to the level of innovative flavours available. With the recent success of the Tassimo Cadbury Chocolate Orange Hot Chocolate in addition to the Tassimo Cadbury Hot Chocolate, shoppers can now experience a full range of Cadbury flavours at home with the new Tassimo Cadbury Caramel Hot Chocolate.

Caramel is the number one flavour amongst coffee shop goers, over-indexing by 35%[4]. The introduction of this flavour promises to bring in incremental shoppers and expand to more treat-time occasions.

The hot chocolate range will be displayed in-store in a hot chocolate range module on shelves to aid with shopper navigation and drive incremental basket spend.

The new pods will be available in selected stockists with a promotional RRSP of £4.20*, followed by £4.99 when the promotion ends.

Tassimo has seen a strong increase in sales of its coffee machines this year, with sales growth of 31% vs the yearly average[5]. With Tassimo remaining the number one coffee machine manufacturer in terms of value sales[6], it plans to build on the momentum with approximately £1.5m in media spend to support the new products.

Roberto De Felice, Marketing Director UK&I at Jacobs Douwe Egberts“Following the successful launch of the Tassimo Cadbury Chocolate Orange Hot Chocolate Pods, we are delighted to further strengthen our range with the Tassimo Cadbury Caramel – a popular flavour amongst both coffee shop goers and shoppers. As skimmed milk options are quickly becoming the number one choice amongst coffee shop drinkers, retailers can capitalise on this by stocking the Costa Skinny Latte pods to enjoy a lighter cup of coffee from home.”

The Tassimo Costa Skinny Latte and Cadbury Caramel Hot Chocolate Pods will be available in selected stockists from 1st July. Both will have a promotional price of £4.20*, followed by £4.99 when the promotion ends. Both products are HFSS-Compliant.
